Souljunky’s “The dawns are heartbreaking” received it’s radio debut just last night on 93.1 FM WXRT Chicago. Sunday night DJ Richard Milne hosts a show named “Local Anesthetic” that features the Chicago-land are and Northwest Indiana’s best bands. Mr. Milne reported the current hiatus and refers to the group’s latest E.P. as “some seriously good songwriting” and played the track “Avenue A”.
Merely A taste of great things to come as Souljunky plan to release a series of three singles and eventually an E.P. containing all six a sides and b sides titled “The Dawns Are Heartbreaking”. Souljunky slowly progress this new wave tinged composition into full-on dancefloor psychedelia. We can’t wait to hear the finished piece. Enjoy!
Not so breaking news; it turns out they beat us to it with this one. Souljunky went back into the recording studio (Cinnamon Sound) this past Sunday. The group successfully laid down final drum and bass guitar parts for each of the six songs on their new extended player (title TBA) for Garden House Records. The group will continue to track additional work over the next few months and expect to release the record early next year.

It Must Be Love
We are more than pleased to announce the addition of the Chicago based alternative collective, Souljunky to our label. We look forward to releasing some amazing music in the months to come. Here is a message from the group’s website;
“It seemed a natural fit and hey let’s face it, two of the label owners are in the group. It’s been awhile since we performed and for good reason. We have been locked away for months and writing enough for two albums. Don’t get us wrong we don’t have lofty plans to make a double record. We have agreed to release to one digital single and two extended players. We will be going into some studios soon to record what we believe to be our best work to date. Garden House Records promises to keep you updated on release dates as they become more realistic. Until then we will be working on setting up some unique performances for all to enjoy. A huge thanks to Garden House Records and all the love you our friends throw our way.
